If you’re from the Pacific west there is a good chance that you are familiar with Randy’s music. A native of southern California, he has been a regularly featured artist at many different venues, including Forest Home and Hume Lake Christian Camps for over three decades. Perhaps you heard his first album, “Tunesmith,” produced in the 80’s with Dave Hopkins, his longtime pal and musical partner. Randy’s finger-picking musical style and voice have often been compared to that of Gordon Lightfoot.

Aside from composing, performing, and leading worship, Dr. Randy Northrup is also a marriage and family therapist, practicing in Pasadena. Blending his unusual understanding of the human heart with his deep love and understanding of the heart of God, Randy’s music has the ability to bring life to the hearts of those who listen.
Married for over 25 years, Randy and Robin have three grown daughters, Sara, Carrie, and Amanda, all living in the Los Angeles area. They are very active at Lake Avenue Church, both in leadership and mentoring younger couples, as well as in music.

Randy’s latest collection, “Hearts and Souls,” has just been released, and is a compilation of 14 original praise and worship songs, along with some deeply personal and moving numbers. Whether you are joining Randy in singing one of his signature praise songs, “You Have Been so Good to Me,” enjoying the klezmer band in “Mighty Deliverer,” or humming “Lullaby” to your own child, you will find hope, encouragement, and the heart of God in all of your circumstances, which is the message of his music.
